Lodsworth Village Shop

We are a multi award winning, eco-friendly, not-for-profit, village shop run by volunteers and two, lovely and welcoming, part time managers. The shop building was completed in November 2009. It was built by Ben Law (star of Grand Designs, Channel 4) together with his team of apprentices and local volunteers. The shop was built entirely from locally sourced, sustainable timber and constructed on the "A" frame principle.

The aim of the shop is to be an outlet providing as much local produce as possibly to our customers and to help reduce car miles travelling to the nearest towns. We generate much of our electricity needs via photo-voltaic panels on the south facing roof. We have a heat recovery system and a water usage saving device.

Due to the success of the shop a number of small related businesses have opened up within the village. (Farretti, an Italian bakery and Sujoco; a cookery school)

Do come and visit our unique and beautiful shop.

STOP PRESS. We have just learned that we are one of three nominees for the"Best Corner Shop" category in a competition run by the Daily Telegraph. The winning entry will be announced on 22nd Feb and there will be a write up in the DT Magazine on 25th February. Fingers crossed!!! It would be wonderful to win this one.
